Patricia S. "Patti" Starck, 99, of South Bend, IN, passed away peacefully in her home, at 5:55 p.m. Sunday, February 2, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Patti was born on August 11, 1925 to the late Edward and Virginia (LaBarge) Moellering in St. Louis, MO, and has lived in South Bend, IN, since 1946. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Joseph Starck III.
She worked as a Retail Clerk in the women's clothing department at the former Robertson's Department Store in downtown South Bend, for many years.
In 1946, as Patricia S. "Patti" Moellering, she married William Joseph Starck III in Houston, Texas. He passed away in 2005.
Patti is survived by her two daughters, Lana (Thomas) Kingston of Hilton Head, NC; Colleen (Thomas) Ruszkowski of Birmingham, AL; five grandchildren, Amy (Chris) Sakalosky; Adam Kingston; Thaddeus (Linda) Ruszkowski; Trevor (Stephanie) Ruszkowski; and Jennifer (John) Bethell; 11 great grandchildren, Grace and Emma Sakalosky; Addison, Harper, Mackenzie, and Braden Ruszkowski; Emersen and Ellery Ruszkowski; and Lilly, John, and George Bethell.
Patti was an avid sports fan, with Notre Dame being her favorite team. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday, February 8, 2025 in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Noon Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1050 Wilbert Street, South Bend, IN. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery.
