Norma Y. (Dumont) McKenna, 97, of Dartmouth, formerly of New Bedford, passed away peacefully on Friday February 21, 2025 at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth. She was the wife of the late Thomas F. McKenna.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Louis and Mary (Fredette) Dumont, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life. After retirement, she and her husband wintered in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Norma was a graduate of Holy Family High School. She was formerly employed in data processing at Hemingway Transportation. She also worked as a secretary for her husband's business, Niac Corp., a distributor of Cains Mayonnaise.
She and her late husband were members of the Country Club of New Bedford and she was a former member of the Ivy Circle.
She leaves behind her sister-in-law, Margaret Dumont; many nieces and nephews; and several Godchildren.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Laura Lawless, Estelle Bryant, and Louis "Pete" Dumont.
Her Funeral Mass will be held on Monday March 3rd at 10 AM at St. Julie Billiart Church, 494 Slocum Rd., Dartmouth. Burial will follow in Acushnet Cemetery. Visiting hours are omitted.
