Mr. Nelson Ray Lane, 78, passed away Monday, February 17, 2025. He was born June 25, 1946 to the late Marvin Wilson Lane and Della Mae Brown Lane. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Josephine Lane; his brothers, Wilson Lane, Edgar Lane; and his sisters, Jessie Burchette, and Joley Cockerham. Mr. Lane served in the United State Army. When his health permitted, he enjoyed camping. He is survived by his wife, Mary Adams Lane; his son, Gary Lane; step-son, Ralph Hendrix; step-daughter, Missy Hendrix; grandchildren, Holly Bost, Joel Lane; niece, Crystal Davis; nephew, Jerry (Mattie) Lane; great-nieces, Kayla Widener, Terry Rudoff; and a brother-in-law, Glenn Lunsford. The family will receive friends, Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM. A graveside service will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM at Douglas Cemetery in East Bend with military honors by Yadkin VFW Post # 10346. The family would like to give a special thank you to, Brain Kiser, Adrian and Hannah Wall with South Surry Fire Department for all of the support shown to Mr. Lane and his family. Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville is serving the Lane family.
