It is with both sorrow and gratitude that we announce the passing of Mary Katherine "Kathie" Young, who left this world on August 17, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on November 15, 1944, Kathie lived a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering spirit.
She is preceded in death by her parents Ed and Orene; sister, Shirley; and husband, Forrest.
Kathie will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Debbie Mangold, Tammie Moseley, and Robbie Trevino, whom cherished their bond and the countless memories they created together. She also leaves behind grandchildren, Amber Villanueva, Dixie Newsome (Cory), Corey Villanueva, Tommy Medina (Kayla), Brian Martinez (Lili), Mason Trevino, Nevaeh Trevino, and great grandchildren; Brianna, Kyle, Damion, Gage, Athen, Mateo, Josiah, Kenny, Hendryx, and great-great grandchild, Austin. Kathie will also be missed by her siblings, Patsy, Buddy (Tracey), Bobby, Paul Ray (Terri), Marsha (Preston), and multiple nieces, and nephews, and many friends she made along the way.
Throughout her life, Kathie celebrated family, friendships, and the beauty of the world around her, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
In honor of Kathie's life, a memorial service will be held on August 27th at 11:00 am at Divine Savior Lutheran Church, where family and friends will gather to share stories, reminisce, and celebrate the remarkable woman she was. Flowers are welcomed at the church the day of the service, or if you would prefer to make a donation in her her honor, please do so in Kathie's memory to the Divine Savior Lutheran Church, or the Alzheimer's Association, continuing her legacy of kindness and generosity. Kathie will be missed dearly but celebrated wholeheartedly by all whose lives she touched.
