Mary Catherine “Kizzy Momma” Silva, 55, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on November 3, 2025, surrounded by dedicated medical professionals who cared for her with compassion.
Born on August 22, 1970, Catherine was the beloved daughter of Cecilia Silva and the late Jesse Silva. She was preceded in death by her father Jesse Hito Silva, her maternal grandmother Catherine Sanchez, paternal grandparents Mary and Juan Silva, her uncles Anthony Sanchez and Marcelino Sanchez and beloved nephew Johnny Eduino Silva.
Catherine is survived by her loving mother Cecilia Popo Silva, her significant other Johnathan Torres and his beautiful daughters, her loving sister, Laura Sisneros; her brothers, Johnny Silva and Marcelino Sisneros; her godson, Alaxavier Woods; her goddaughter, Angelica Silva; and her cherished nephew, Jesse Sisneros. She is also survived by her nieces, April Silva, Astasha Woods, Johnique Silva, and Johnessa Silva. In addition, Catherine was blessed with the love of her godparents, Trini Lopez and Inocensio Sonny Vargas Jr.
Known to many as “Kizzy Momma,” Catherine dedicated her life to caring for others — not only through her profession as a devoted caretaker, but through the warmth, humor, and generosity she shared with everyone around her. Her compassion, strong spirit, and unwavering love touched countless lives.
She found joy in life’s simple pleasures: watching cooking shows, enjoying a night of bingo or a visit to the casino, and listening to music that spoke deeply to her soul. Her taste in music was as vibrant as her personality. Catherine’s presence was like fireworks on a dark night — her sharp wit and infectious laughter could brighten any room.
Her strength, stubborn determination, and profound love for her family defined her. To those closest to her, she was more than a sister, daughter, aunt, or godmother — she was a confidant, a source of wisdom, and a steady, comforting foundation of love and guidance.
