Mary transitioned peacefully February 25, 2025 at the age of 80. She proceeded in death by her beloved husband Raymond Rawlings, her four brothers James, David, John, and Paul Lewis, a grandson DuRyan Rawlings and her great grandson Jayren Parker.
Mary was born to Mary and John Lewis on February 14, 1945. She was affectionately known as "Big Girl". Mary attended and graduated from Manuel Training High School and then went on to get a degree from Northeastern University. Mary then met and married Raymond Rawlings and they raised two children, Jada Rawlings-Randolph (spouse Darryl Randolph) and Jemal Rawlings as well as two bonus children Raymond Jr. and Earl Rawlings.
Mary was cherished educator and mentor and dedicated many years to shaping young minds throughout the Taft and Muskogee public school system.
Mary is survived by her grandchildren Jacqueline, Jalen and Javon Rawlings, Grayson Birch, Zaria, and Jemal Jr, Rawlings, Destiny Wilson, and Roderick Rawlings, 19 great grandchildren, and many more loving cousins, relatives and friends of the family.
Mary will be cherished and truly missed by all that knew her. May her memory be a blessing.
The Hour of Remembrance will commence on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at the Eleventh Hour in the Agape Outreach Ministries in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
You may visit Mrs. Rawlings on Friday, March 14, 2025, in the All Faiths Chapel of Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., Tulsa, OK, between the hours of 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
Burial will follow immediately after services in the Booker T. Washington Cemetery.
