Mary Daniel Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bruce & Stiff Funeral Home on Feb. 20, 2025.
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. – Romans 8:38-39
Deaconess Mary Daniel, 73, of Appomattox, Virginia, was called home to be with her heavenly father on Wednesday, February 19, 2025. She was born on September 25, 1951, to the late Lacy J. Webb, Sr. and Josephine C. Webb of Appomattox.
Mary was a devoted wife, sister, aunt, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of many. She is survived by her devoted husband, Robert A. Daniel. Additionally, she is survived by her three stepchildren, Tracey Anderson (Brian) of Smith Mountain Lake, VA., Robert A. Daniel, Jr. (Cheryl) of Grovetown, Georgia and Joyce Daniel of Concord, VA.; brother Lacy J. Webb, Jr. (Sheena) of Appomattox, VA., her niece, Trinia T. Townes (Payton) and her nephew, Robert L. Webb (Roxanne). She also leaves behind her great-niece Katilyn A. Townes and great-nephew, Gavin L. Webb, all of Florida.
A proud graduate of Carver-Price High School, Mary continued her education at Bennett Women's College in North Carolina. She dedicated much of her life to serving others working for many years in the culinary department at the former Central Virginia Training Center and the Appomattox 4-H Center. Through her work, she built lasting friendships that she cherished deeply.
Mary was a faithful servant of God and an active member of several church communities, including Canaan Baptist, Jericho Baptist, and Springfield Baptist. Her commitment to her faith was unwavering, and she remained involved in church activities until her health declined.
She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Though she has departed from this earthly life, her love, kindness, and faith will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
A Memorial Service will be held for Mrs. Daniel will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025,
at 1 p.m. at Springfield Baptist Church, 6074 Watt Abbitt Road, Appomattox, VA 24522
"I'M FREE"
Don't grieve for me for now I'm free,
I'm following the path God laid for me
I took his hand when I heard him call,
I turned my back and left it all
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work or play
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I've found that peace at the close of day
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah yes, these things I too will miss
Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish for you the sunshine of tomorrow
My life's been full, I've savored much,
Good friends, good times, my loved one's touch
If my time seemed all too brief,
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief
Lift up your heart, rejoice with me,
God wanted me now, He set me free.
The Memorial Service for Sister Mary Webb Daniel will be live-streamed from either Springfield Baptist Church Facebook or Bruce and Stiff Facebook.
