Marvin Earl Hutt, 81, of Ray, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at his home. Earl was born on August 29, 1943, in Ray, the son of the late Marvin and Helen (Ratcliff) Hutt. Earl was married to the late Dora Irene (Dutcher) Hutt.

Earl served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for Benedict Inc, McArthur Trucking, and retired from Sand Hill Coal Company.

Earl is survived by his son, Daniel Hutt of Ray; grandchildren, Brittany (Cody) Potter of Wellston, Alyson Michael of Ashland, and Nathan Hutt of Tennessee; great grandchildren, Cooper, Camryn, Conner, Dominic, Elliott, and Clara; sister, Shirley (Howdy) Grossarth of Lancaster; brother-in-law, Leroy (Diana) Dutcher; nieces and nephews, William “Bub” (Haley) Dutcher, Eric Dutcher, Neil Dutcher, Tyler Dutcher, Nicholas Dutcher, and Elizabeth Dutcher; and many other loving family and friends.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Sonny Hutt; and sisters, Thelma Scott and Yvonne Patterson.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 24, 2025, at the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St, McArthur, with Rev. Jim Taylor officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Family and friends may visit from 11 am to 1 pm Friday at the funeral home.
