Marilyn Taylor, 82, passed away early Saturday morning, March 1, 2025, at Wellbrooke assisted living facility. Marilyn was born in South Bend on July 23,1942 to the late Chester and Albina (Herma) Pinkowski. On April 08, 1972 she married Jerry Taylor at St. Stanislaus Church in South Bend. He preceded her in death on November 18, 2023. Also preceding her in death were three siblings, Alice Pinkowski, Ray Pinkowski, and Rita Szymanowski. Surviving are her two children, Jason of Miami Beach, FL and Jeff (April) of Des Plaines, IL; and two grandchildren, Adelaide and Zachary.

Marilyn graduated from Central Senior High School in 1960 and worked several different jobs before joining with her husband to become self-employed. The two of them owned and operated a small business in South Bend for over 30 years, employing many relatives and friends of their sons during that time. She was a parishioner at St Jude Catholic Church and enjoyed taking bus trips with family and friends from the parish to the casinos in different cities.

As a Notre Dame men's basketball season ticket holder she and Jerry attended many games and sometimes worked the concessions as volunteers to raise money for their parish.

She adopted several cats and dogs throughout her life. Marilyn loved reading crime novels, playing euchre with her neighbors, summer vacations at cottages with family, listening to books on tape during drives through the country with her husband, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Visitation for Marilyn will be held at 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM Saturday March 8th with a Memorial Service beginning at 2:30 PM at the McGann Hay, University Chapel, 2313 Edison Rd, South Bend, IN 46615.

Donations can be made in Marilyn's name to the Humane Society of St. Joseph County.
