Marianna Gail Hays, 63, of Tulare, California, passed away in the presence of her family on January 27, 2026, after a private three-year battle with stage 4 ovarian cancer, at Kaweah Health Hospital. Marianna touched many lives, but no more than that of her family. Born in Tulare, California on January 2, 1963, to Jack and Euna Hays. Marianna was blessed with a loving family and was one of ten siblings. Marianna graduated from Tulare Western High School. She spent over 30 years in retail and was known for her tenacity, spirit, and character. She was an incredible mother who spent her life making sacrifices for her family and instilling both strength and courage into her daughter, who will carry her memory with her always. She was a loving grandmother who loved her grandchildren, something she took the greatest pride in. Marianna was preceded in death by her father, Jack Hays, and her sister, Carol McElmoyl, both of Tulare, CA. She is survived by her daughter, Megan Freitas (Ryan), and her three grandchildren: Brynlee, Ryver, and Roman. Her brothers are Richard Hays of Visalia, Randy Hays (Sherry), Michael Hays, Steven Hays (Veronica), and Matthew Hays. Her sisters, Karen Miller (Ron), Diana Perez (Michael), and Cindy Hays, all of Tulare, will cherish the memories they shared with her. Marianna will be remembered for her strength, courage, and unwavering hope. She fought with determination and grace, inspiring her family greatly. A memorial service will take place at Miller's Tulare Funeral Home on February 12, 2026, at 10 a.m. A reception to follow at Tulare First Baptist Church.
