Lynn Marie Stolp, 69 of Rochester, MN joyfully went home to her Jesus on Sunday, November 10, 2024. She spent her final days at home surrounded by loving family.
Lynn was born June 2, 1955 to Gerald and Veronica Stolp of Rochester. She graduated from Lourdes High School in 1973. Upon graduation, Lynn joined the United States Air Force stationed in Alabama, and did a tour of the Azores. After her discharge from the Air Force, she lived in Iowa, Maine, and North Carolina before returning to her home and family in Minnesota where she was employed by Mayo Clinic until her retirement in 2020. Retirement didn't slow Lynn down one bit as she spent her days volunteering at Mayo Clinic, served as a No-one Dies Alone (NODA) volunteer, and played the Carillon at the Plummer Building.
Lynn married Jim Koehneke in 1993 and later divorced. Together they raised Jim's two children Alison and Justin.
Lynn was an avid gardener and quilter, and loved travelling (most notably a trip to Europe with her mom and dad). She was a beloved sister, mother, and friend – a giver until the very end with the donation of her organs so that others may live. She was a trusted mentor to her nieces and nephews, and a loving grammy to her grandson Levi who she adored. Lynn loved her family fiercely, and her vivacious energy and boisterous laugh lit up every family gathering.
Lynn was passionate about her renewed faith and looked forward to her weekly service and bible study at Community Celebration Church in Kasson, MN. It was in this faith that she joyously opened her arms to the Lord when he called her home.
Lynn is survived by her children Alison (Seth) Friedmann, Justin (Suze) Koehneke, her grandson Levi, her mother Veronica Stolp, her siblings Bruce (Joyce) Stolp, Julie (Jerry) Laures, Howard (Anne Marie) Stolp, Janet Wallaker, Matt (Laura) Stolp, Nick (Melissa) Stolp, and many nieces and nephews.
Lynn is preceded in death by her father Gerald Stolp, her grandparents, and great grandparents.
Lynn's family would like to share their love and memories of Lynn in a celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Mayo Clinic Hospice program.
"When you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced. Live your life so that when you die, the world cries and you rejoice." ~ Cherokee Proverb
