Lynda Ann Black Dixon, 75, passed away at her home on March 10, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born in Harnett County on June 29, 1949 to the late William Henry Black, Jr. and Bessie Turlington Black. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved son, Daniel Flemming Latta; brothers, William Henry Black III and Ronald Keith Black; sisters, Sandra Black Page, Betty Lou Clack, and Hellen Black Collins.
Lynda is survived by daughter, Jeri Lynn Latta; son, Joseph Finley Latta; grandchildren, Alex Batess and Casey Latta (fiancé Phillip Lewis); great-grandchildren, Madison and Emmett Daniel; sister, Brenda Yarborough; brother-in-law, Roger Page; aunt, Gilda Gray Turlington; and many special nieces and nephews.
Lynda worked for many years at the school and drove the school bus. She later served the community of Erwin while working at the drug store. A favorite pastime for Lynda was crocheting and she could often be found with her yarn and needles. Lynda lived in the mountains of Tennessee for about 10 years and loved her time there. Lynda loved her family and they will miss her greatly.
The family will receive friends at her daughter's home (1110 Thompson Road, Bunnlevel, NC) on Saturday, March 15, 2025 from 2-5 pm.
