Lyle Evans Boak, 72, of Great Falls, Montana, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Peace Hospice House in Great Falls, Montana. He was born on March 3, 1953, to the late Vaughn and Bernice Boak in Redmond, Oregon. His surviving family includes his daughter, Starla Yarbrough; two grandsons, Charles Farrell III and Tyler Farrell; one great-grandson, Charlie Farrell; and two sisters, Verla Milburn and Sonja Downing, along with several nieces, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Lyle grew up in Southern California, where making friends came easily, and many of those friendships continue today. He had a passion for shooting pool, which he shared with his daughter and grandchildren. Lyle also loved singing, particularly karaoke; he once won a "Johnny Cash sound-a-like" contest, which awarded him money and a nice guitar. Known for his incredible sense of humor, Lyle kept his jovial spirit until the end. He enjoyed reading and often spent early mornings with his favorite book and a strong cup of coffee.
Recently, Lyle reaffirmed his love and faith in Jesus, bringing great peace to his family despite the profound loss they are experiencing. His love for his family, his passion for singing, and his uncanny ability to make you laugh will be deeply missed.
The Cloyd Funeral Home is assisting the family. Friends are encouraged to make memorial donations to a charity of their choice, which can be left at Cloyd Funeral Home. Condolences for the family can be posted online at www.cloydfuneralhome.com.
