Luckie Marie Bowen, a beacon of kindness and joy, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2025, at the age of 72 in Elkhart, Indiana. Born on May 5, 1952, in Champaign, Illinois, she was the cherished daughter of the late Gerald and Angess Inman. Luckie's life was a testament to her name, as she navigated the world with an unwavering sense of humor and a heart full of generosity.
Luckie's journey through life was shared with her beloved wife, Darla Harrell, who stood by her side as a partner and best friend. She was a loving aunt to her niece, Doris Collins, is also survived by her sister-in-law, Clarice Inman, eight nephews, nine great-nieces and great-nephews, and four great-great-nieces. Preceding her in death were her sister, Anna Harris, and her brothers, George, Jerry, and Walter Inman. Luckie's love for her family was paralleled only by her adoration for her dogs, Ruby, Pokey, Little Bit, and Calvin, who were her constant companions and brought her immeasurable joy.
For many years, Luckie served her community as a dedicated taxi driver, a role that allowed her to touch the lives of countless individuals with her kindness and warmth. She was known for her ability to brighten the day of anyone who entered her cab, leaving a lasting impression on both friends and strangers alike.
Luckie's interests were a reflection of her vibrant personality. She had a passion for playing pool and darts, activities where she not only showcased her competitive spirit but also her ability to bring people together. Her love for country music was evident, and she could often be found humming along to her favorite tunes. A true fan of trivia and the Old West, Luckie never missed an episode of Jeopardy or her beloved western shows, which she watched with the same enthusiasm she brought to every aspect of her life.
Those who knew Luckie will remember her as the epitome of kindness. She was the kind of person who would go out of her way to help anyone in need, never expecting anything in return. Her laughter was infectious, her spirit unbreakable, and her presence a source of comfort and happiness to all who were fortunate enough to cross her path.
Luckie Marie Bowen's legacy is one of love, laughter, and selflessness. Her memory will continue to inspire those who knew her, and her light will shine on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all the lives she touched. She will be deeply missed, but the joy she brought to this world will never be forgotten.
