Lillian M. (Jasper) Ramos, 86 of New Bedford, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. Born in Boston on August 22, 1938, daughter of Antonio and Guilhermina Da Graca, Lillian spent her childhood in Dartmouth before meeting and marrying her husband, Raymond Ramos and moving to New Bedford where she lived the rest of her life.
Lillian loved spending time with her family who gave her some much joy in life including her husband, daughter, son, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We will remember her for her fun playful nature. She loved to sing and dance and never missed an opportunity to do the electric slide at a family wedding.
She loved to play solitaire and belonged to many social groups during her lifetime including the Cape Verdean Women's Social Club, St. Martin De Porres Guild, and Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
A loving and joyous woman until the very end, she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Raymond M. Ramos; her son Kevin A. Lopes and his wife Jessica of New Bedford; her sister Betty Ann Jasper; her grandchildren, Brandon Lopes, Raeha Noel, Shevonne Arias, Tekala Lopes, Alyssa Lopes; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
She is predeceased by her daughter Pamela Ramos-Chumack
Her Funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 30th at 9 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 10 AM. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, October 29th from 4-7 PM
