Obituary published on Legacy.com by Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc. - Tulsa on Feb. 8, 2025.
Leonard Harold Hutton arrived in the world as a healthy, bouncing baby boy to his parents Harold Thomas Hutton and Ruthie Mae Hutton on April 6, 1953.
Growing up in the country, Leonard spent a lot of time on the family farm with his grandparents, Ralph and Mattie Mae Hutton. One of his favorite memories was being in the tractor with his grandpa plowing the fields. Ralph would always have Leonard's favorite orange soda on deck for him. Ralph made him a makeshift seat in the tractor and would often let Leonard drive home. All the while, Mattie would be looking at them
through the window from afar.
He graduated Lawrence High School in 1971 and then went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Southeastern Louisiana University. In 1985, Leonard enlisted in the United States Army and rose through the ranks to become an E-5 Sergeant. He was stationed at Fort Eustis in Virginia as a truck driver, where he met his beautiful future wife, Margo. They fell in love and got married January 3, 1986 in Lawrence, Kansas and later relocated to
Tulsa, Oklahoma.
On March 29, 1991, they welcomed their first and only precious child Leona "Ciara" Hutton. Leonard and Ciara were inseparable. From her childhood to adulthood, she often followed him everywhere. With Leonard being a cowboy at heart, he spent his best days teaching Ciara how to swing a rope. Leonard and Ciara would spend countless evenings throughout the years practicing roping dummy calves and steers. Leonard loved to take Ciara to rodeos to study the sport. He would often bring his dummy roping equipment to rodeos and have entertainment for adults and kids alike. Later on, Leonard and Ciara became father and daughter coworkers at G4S Security. They covered several sites for each other over the years and even worked the college football games at Oklahoma State University together!
Leonard leaves to cherish his life: His wife of 39 years, Margo and his daughter, Ciara. His sister Debbie Comer, his cousins Darrell Wayne Hutton and Joyce Stevenson.
His parents Harold Thomas and Ruthie Mae, his grandparents Ralph and Mattie Mae, his niece LaShonate Davidson, and a host of cousins, aunts, and uncles all preceded him.
