Leah DeRamus Obituary

Leah DeRamus, 41, of Cottondale, passed away on January 16, 2026, at her residence. A graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026, 2:00PM at Big Hurricane Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.

Leah was the heart and soul of her family. Holding everything together, she always found a way to make everything right! She was the kind of woman that, many men seek but never find, being the most special loving wife that anyone could ever ask for! She was the ultimate Best Friend, to her husband and her two sons.

Leah was the definition of balance in the lives of her family. She was the most amazing mother to her two boys. Incredibly smart, Leah took on the task of homeschooling her own children without hesitation. She was beautiful on the outside but possessed an immense inner strength that was immeasurable!

She was 'tougher than nails,' facing medical challenges that would cause others to give up. Leah maintained hope and faith in the face of adversity, always wanting to "be home with her boys,' fighting through pain and the challenges of healing.

She was the most loving and selfless person, a caring daughter and a loving, yet protective big sister. She had the purest heart! Leah leaves an immense void in the lives of those she loved that will never be filled. She was nothing short of perfection in the eyes of her family and she will forever be missed beyond measure.

Leah was preceded in death by her grandparents Jane and Al Webber and L.M. and Elizabeth Hayes, as well as her father-in-law Gordon DeRamus, Jr. She is survived by her husband Mark DeRamus, sons Leupold DeRamus and Walther DeRamus, parents Sonny and Kim Hayes, brother Heath Hayes (Danielle), nephews Wesson Hayes and Cannon Hayes, and mother-in-law Roseanne DeRamus.
