Larry Warden Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home and Cremation Services - Centralia on Jan. 23, 2026.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Larry Warden, who departed this life on Wednesday, January 21st, 2026, at the age of 64. Born on Friday, April 21st, 1961, in Centralia, Illinois, he is the son of Charles Warden and Phyllis June (Powers) Warden.

He is survived by his devoted sons, Josh Warden of Shelbyville and Scottie Lowery and wife Melissa of Odin. Larry also leaves behind his brother, Tony Warden and wife Julie of Oreana, IL, his sister, Cheryl Mathena of North Carolina, and his treasured grandchildren, Addison and Harlynn Warden, who brought immense joy to his life. In addition, Larry was blessed with the companionship of special friends Chris and Trish Slagley of Centralia. Larry was predeceased by his beloved parents, Charles H. Warden and Phyllis Warden, and his brother, Randy "Frog" Warden.

Fondly nicknamed "Bobblehead" by his friends and family, Larry was known for his friendly nature and sense of humor. He had a passion for fishing and was seldom seen without his faithful four-legged companion, Boot, by his side.

Larry worked at the Conagra Factory in Centralia for many years until he became disabled. Despite the challenges he faced, he remained a pillar of strength and positivity to those around him.

In honor of Larry's wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to allow family and friends to gather and remember the good times shared together.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to Larry's family and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home located at 235 North Sycamore Street Centralia, Illinois, 62801 (618)532-3523, who is honored to be of service to Larry's Family. Online condolences may be made to the family by visiting www.sutherlandfuneralhome.com or the Funeral Home's Facebook page.

Larry's memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

May he rest in eternal peace.
