Kirk Bundy Obituary

Kirk Lane Bundy, age 70 of Paris, Illinois passed away at 2:49PM on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at his home.

A memorial visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. Memorial service will immediately follow at the funeral home.

He was born on December 19, 1955 in East Chicago, Indiana to Jack Wilbert and Frieda Ilene (Whitbeck) Bundy.

Kirk was hardworking, he spent many years as a dishwasher at Pizza Hut, and previously at Denny's. He was a longtime and active member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Paris, where he faithfully attended Wednesday night services, Sunday mornings, and Sunday evenings. Kirk enjoyed participating in Vacation Bible School, attending men's breakfasts, singing at church, and going to Bible study. He truly loved his church family and cherished the relationships he built there. He also treasured the special phone calls he shared with his brother, Scott.

Kirk found joy in simple pleasures. He loved going to the Covered Bridge Festival, riding his bike when he was able, and admiring old cars, especially Camaros. One of his greatest passions was collecting and watching movies. He enjoyed taking care of the family dog, Marley, and the cat, Kitty-Kitty. During the summer months, he loved spending time in the pool and helping take care of it. He often walked to Dollar General to buy snack cakes, a small routine that brought him happiness.

Kirk was a devoted and caring brother to his sister, Ilene, always checking on her, helping around the house, and making sure she was doing well. Each evening, without fail, he could be heard asking, "What's for dinner?"

He is survived by his siblings: Jackie Bundy, Scott Bundy, Colleen Bundy, Karen Vance, Ilene Barrett; and his nieces and nephews: Sheri Wohl and her children: Amber, Aimee, and Daniella; Kary Jones and her children: Jackie, Jacob, Braeden, Gordon, and Rykar; Susan Milby (Matthew) and their children: Joshua (Mariah) and their children: Arleigh and Kavenaugh; Allison and Lydia; Steven Bundy, Sara Bundy, Penny Ilene Taylor and her children: Ashley, Autumn, Alyssa, and Maddie; Shawn Klein, Thomas Vance, Shayna Vance and her children: Leo and Lyric; Daniel Clifford Barrett Jr. and his children: Sierra, Isabella, Mia, Carson, and Daisy; Christopher David Barrett (Bridgett) and their child, Bensyn; Michael David Kozlowski, and Brianna Ilene Cooper (Matt) and their child, Emily.

Kirk is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Frieda Bundy, and his brother, James Harold Bundy.
