Kelly Holloway Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McDonald and Son Funeral Home and Crematory - Cumming on Jan. 29, 2026.
***Please note dates and times have changed. Visitation will remain the same, the service and graveside portion have moved to Monday, February 2nd, due to anticipated weather conditions on Saturday.

Kelly Holloway, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, went home to be with The Lord on January 29, 2026, after a battle with esophageal cancer.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Holloway, mother, Bonnie Shoemake Holloway, and his beloved dog, Abby. He is survived by his wife, Tammy Parker Holloway of Canton, children, Amber (Calvin) Blankenship of Rydal, Brooke Melton of Cumming, and Cameron Holloway of Ball Ground, stepchildren, Jud (Courtney) Bracewell, Jenna Bracewell, and grandchildren Collin Bruce, Ava Melton, Wyatt Blankenship, Garrett Blankenship, Callie Bracewell, Jack Bracewell, Jameson Bracewell, and John Ezra Bracewell. He is also survived by many cousins, other distant family and a host of friends and neighbors.

Kelly will be remembered for his humor and warm smile. Kelly had a sense of humor that was impossible to miss and hard to forget. He could make anyone laugh, often when they needed it most, and he never took himself too seriously. Whether it was a quick one-liner, perfectly timed sarcasm, or an often-timed exaggerated reenactment of what actually occurred, his humor was just part of who he was, and being around him was simply more fun because of it.

That humor was matched by an unwavering work ethic. Kelly believed in showing up, doing the job right, and taking pride in an honest day's work. He didn't look for shortcuts or recognition. He simply did what needed to be done, day after day, setting an example through action rather than words.

In his free time, Kelly had a deep love for motorcycles and the freedom of the open road. He was an avid rider who especially enjoyed traveling on his Harley-Davidson, whether heading out on his own or riding alongside friends. Those rides were about more than the destination. They were about camaraderie, conversation without words, and the simple joy of sharing the road with people he cared about. Riding gave Kelly a sense of peace, adventure, and connection, and it reflected his love for life, friendship, travel, and the moments that mattered most.

Above all, Kelly was a God-fearing man who believed in Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Kelly's faith in Jesus was central to his life and deeply personal. He truly loved and believed in Jesus, and that belief gave him strength, comfort, and hope through every season of life, even this most difficult, final chapter.

Please join us in celebrating Kelly's life at McDonald & Son Funeral Home, 150 Sawnee Drive, Cumming, Georgia, 30040. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 4:00pm-9:00pm and Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 10:00am to 2:00PM. The funeral service will take place on Monday, February 2, 2026, at 2:00 pm EST.

He will be laid to rest at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens following the service.
