Kathryn Michele Payton,64, peacefully departed this world on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. Born on February 8, 1960, in Bainbridge, Maryland, Kathryn's radiant spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.
Having dedicated years of service, Kathryn retired from Humana, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication. She found solace and strength in her faith as a member of Kingdom Life Church of Sellersburg, where her presence was a source of comfort and joy to her fellow parishioners.
Kathryn's passion for cooking brought warmth and happiness to countless gatherings. Her social nature and boundless generosity ensured that she was surrounded by friends wherever she went. Known for her infectious smile and ability to find light in even the darkest of moments, Kathryn's presence brightened the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She was preceded in death by her sister, Lori Davis.
Survivors include her loving husband of 43 years, David Payton of Jeffersonville, Indiana, her 3 daughters, Berachah Payton (Kenny Joe) of Jeffersonville, Taresah Russell (John) of LaGrange, Kentucky, Rachelle Padilla (Erick) of Jeffersonville, her parents, Mary and Stephen Kochersperger of Sellersburg, her brothers, Christopher Waggoner (Yvonne) of Jeffersonville, Drew Waggoner of Sellersburg and her sister, Wanda Knollman of Batesville, Indiana. Kathryn also leaves 8 grandchildren to cherish her legacy, DJ Tudor, Damoni Joe, Nevaeh Joe, William Russell, Raylan Russell, Nadine Kinsey, Julianna Kinsey, and Joseph Padilla.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Kingdom Life Church (11515 US-31, Sellersburg, IN 47172). Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the church.
