Julia Inman Obituary

Julia Ann Inman, age 63, of Georgetown, Texas, formerly of Sheridan, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 23, 2021.  Born January 30, 1958 in Noblesville, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Vernon Eugene “Tuffy” and Charlene Lou (Moreland) Inman.

She was a member of the Sheridan First Christian Church, and a member of Job’s Daughters Bethel 34, where she was Past Honored Queen.

Julia graduated from Sheridan High School with the Class of 1976.  During her years as a Blackhawk, she was a cheerleader on the Jr. High and High School squads, a member of the Hawkettes Dance Team, and was a Sheridan Homecoming Queen.  After graduation, she attended Vincennes University.

After leaving Vincennes, Julia entered the fast-paced and high stress field of restaurant management.  Most people would start out slow and test the waters when entering a new career field, but not Julia.  She began working with a catering company serving the Orlando and Tampa areas - Disney World.  She later left the company to pursue an opportunity with Outback Steakhouse that would bring her back home to Indiana, and closer to family.  Julia remained with the chain for several years, including a move within the company that landed her in Cleveland, which was still close enough to visit Central Indiana on a semi-regular basis.  After many years in the restaurant industry, she finally decided it was time for a change, in both scenery and careers.  Julia made the move to Texas, taking a position with Bassett Furniture as an interior decorator – this was her true calling.  Always fashion forward when it came to her clothing choices, especially when it came to her boots, she found where she was meant to be.  She shared her love of decorating and flair for design to help make her clients' ideas become a reality.

Julia loved her new career, but family and friends were her true passion.  She loved to shop, and what better excuse to do that, than to go shopping for those she loved most.  She had a knack for finding that special present for every occasion.  Family was her highest priority in life, and with Julia, friends also fell in that category.  Her bubbly personality and infectious smile will be missed by everyone that had the privilege of being in her life.  She seemed to never meet a stranger, and wherever she was, she was sure to be the life of the party.

After making the move to Texas, she tried to make it back to Indiana as much as she could.  Sometimes it would take a little coaxing during the winter months, and Butler Basketball seemed to be the lure that worked most of the time.  A multitude of sports networks allowed her keep tabs on her Bulldogs when she couldn’t get away, but it wasn’t the same as seeing them at Hinkle.

Julia was the most passionate worker I ever met! Julia helped train me when I first came to Bassett and as a trainer, she was terrific! She always went beyond the call of duty for Bassett Furniture and for her customers! Julia would stay late working on a design project for a customer. She would accommodate her customers any way she could, including coming in on her off days off. Her clients were always her top priorities and she was great at meeting their expectations! As a friend, we enjoyed several fun times in Georgetown where we both lived. Julia was always happy and fun to be with! She was able to converse on so many topics including sports and current events. Julia was very sharp as well as creative. This talent carried over into her sense of fashion. Julia was always beautifully dressed with a pair of boots for every outfit. Julia´s talent and bubbly personality will be greatly missed by all!

Very shocked to hear of Julia’s passing. She had a very vibrant personality, and it was quite obvious the good Lord spent a little extra time on her smile. Prayers and condolences to her family.

Julia was a beautiful person inside and out. We only met her 4 short years ago and we instantly fell in love with her. I cannot imagine the heartbreak and loss the family is feeling. Knowing that Julia is peacefully resting in Our Lord’s arms brings peace to me when I think of her, which is often as we have beautiful furnishings in our home which Julia picked for us! But I will miss her dearly!! Our deepest condolences to her family.
