Joseph Paul Padayhag, MD, 86 of Johnston, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025. Born in Puhi, Kauai, Hawaii, he was one of five children of the late Aquilino and Violet (Pagasian) Padayhag.
Dr. Padayhag proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He graduated from Saint Louis High School in Honolulu, Hawaii. He received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science Degrees from the University of Hawaii and completed his doctoral studies at Marquette University School of Medicine. Dr. Padayhag served for many years as a caring and compassionate physician, specializing in pulmonary disease.
He had several interests including visiting family in Hawaii, sailing, golfing, playing the ukulele and flying light aircraft. He also played the trumpet in military ceremonies.
He is survived by his beloved children, Angie and Joe, brothers, Ralph (Georgianna) Padayhag and Melvin (Nora) Padayhag, and his former wife, Marj. He is preceded in death by his parents, Aquilino and Violet (Pagasian) Padayhag, and brothers, Lawrence and Ronald Padayhag.
His Funeral Arrangements are private and have been entrusted to THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick.
