Jon Paul Kortze, known to all simply as Jon, left this world chuckling on January 18, 2025, at the age of 51, after a stroke decided it was time for him to tell his jokes in the great beyond.
Born on February 5, 1973, in Montgomery, PA, Jon spent his life proving that laughter really is the best medicine, and that a man can, in fact, fix almost anything with enough duct tape. Jon was the proud owner of Dr. Pumper Septic Services, a business that thrived not just because of his expertise, but also due to his uncanny ability to turn a service call into a stand-up routine. He was the king of septic tank humor – a niche market, but boy, did he rule it with a plunger scepter. When he wasn't rescuing the neighborhood from plumbing disasters, Jon could be found outwitting fish, tracking deer, or constructing what he claimed was the Taj Mahal of deer stands. The great outdoors was his comedy club where the trees were the audience, and the animals were the hecklers.
Survived by his three daughters, Madeline, Makayla, and Hannah, Jon passed down his quick wit, resourcefulness, and the secret to the perfect fisherman's knot. Each of them embodies his spirit of humor, creativity, and the kind of handy skills that make hardware stores nervous. Jon was a guy who could find the funny in any situation. He was the man who taught us that if you're not laughing, you're not living. He was as handy with a punchline as he was with a toolbox, and his creative spark could turn a piece of scrap into a masterpiece.
Jon's life was a masterclass in not taking things too seriously, and he leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, and the kind of memories that keep on giving. The world may be a little less funny without him, but heaven just got its best new comedian.
