Johntae LeQuan Trumbo, 30, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly in the early morning hours of Monday, October 21st, 2024. Born on October 11th, 1994, in Louisville, Kentucky, Johntae was the beloved son of Chaka Tobin and Johnnie Trumbo.
A graduate of New Albany High School, Johntae followed his passion as an entrepreneur in the car business, finding joy not only in his work but in the relationships he built along the way. Those who knew him will remember his vibrant personality, his love for video games, and the deep care he had for his family.
Johntae is survived by his children, Stephon, Armani, Kyngston, and Kyra; his mother, Chaka Tobin, and stepfather, Virgil Tobin; his father, Johnnie Trumbo; and his sister, Ciarra Trumbo. He is also survived by his grandparents, Joyce Dunn, Cherry Trumbo, and James Trumbo Sr.; his aunts, Carnita, Celita, Charlita, Chanae (Jeremy), Sharaunta, and Naomi; his uncles, Henry, Carlos, and James; and many extended family members and close friends who will cherish his memory forever.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 25th, at the Market Street Chapel of Naville & Seabrook Funeral Homes, located at 1119 E. Market Street, New Albany, IN 47150, from 11 AM to 1 PM, with a funeral service to follow at 1 PM. Johntae will be laid to rest at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Indiana, surrounded by family.
