Johnnie E. Kassner, known to friends and family as "John" was born on March 7, 1940, in Rich Hill, Missouri. He passed away peacefully on April 2, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
John grew up in Rich Hill, Missouri, where he attended Rich Hill High School. After graduating high school, he moved to Kansas City, Missouri and worked as a civilian with the Police Department. Then he worked in the accounting department at Wilson Foods. John met Jo while working at Wilson Food in Oklahoma City, OK and they later married on March 17, 1984. John ended his career with many years of service at Midwest Towers in Chickasha, Oklahoma as a controller.
John and Jo enjoyed traveling to Missouri to see family and to watch his beloved Kansas City Royals play baseball. He also enjoyed cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs. John loved playing golf with his bride Jo, they enjoyed many years of golfing at several golf courses around Oklahoma City and other states.
John had a strong faith and was a "god-loving man". He modeled his love for the Lord by showing respect to others, speaking kindly, and always having demonstrated a mild manner with everyone he met. He had a dry sense of humor and was always quick witted, which was displayed as a humorous come back in a casual conversation.
John is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Jo Kassner of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; his sister (Sallie Kassner Martin) and many loving family members. He was preceded in death by (2 brothers and two sisters and parents)
A graveside memorial service will be held in celebration of John Kassner's life at Rose Hill Burial Park in Oklahoma City on Monday, April 7, 2025. The viewing will be at 1pm followed by the 2pm service.
