John Jeffrey McGinnis passed away at home on March 7th, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. John D. and Helen Nichols McGinnis. He is survived by his wife, Mickey; children Michael (Sarah) McGinnis of Roswell, Genevieve (Frank) Madonna of Woodstock; granddaughter Bianca Madonna, also of Woodstock. He is also survived by his sister, Melissa McGinnis, MD, along with numerous cousins and friends.

Jeff was a lifelong resident of Forsyth County. He graduated from Forsyth County High School in 1973 and was inducted into the Forsyth County High School Hall of Fame in 2021.

He retired from McAllister Retail Services as a Senior Automation Specialist.

He was the Stage-Manager for Lanierland Music Park where he met, then married his soulmate, Mickey, in July of 1979.

He loved playing, listening, and teaching music.

Jeff also enjoyed woodworking, gardening, photography, and “gallavanting” around. Jeff loved his family and friends, and he never met a stranger. Strangers were just friends he hadn’t met yet.

His granddaughter, Bianca Madonna, was the light of his life, along with his children Michael and Sarah, and Ginny and Frank.

He loved helping people and will be missed by all that knew him.
