Mr. John (Jay) David Lyle, III (45) of Mauldin, SC passed away in his sleep Thursday, July 18, 2024.
He was the son of John David Lyle, Jr. and Margaret Queen Hiser. He is survived by his
parents and step-parents, Judy Lyle and Kenyon Hiser, along with many aunts, uncles, and
cousins in the Walhalla area and around the US.
Jay was born in Walhalla, SC and lived in military communities around the country, including:
Honolulu (HI), Monterey (CA), Fairfax and Norfolk (VA), Augusta (GA) (where he adopted Millie,
his canine friend for 17 years), and Frederick (MD). He graduated from Linganore High School
and Frederick Community College. Before moving to Mauldin 4 years ago he lived and worked
in Tucson, AZ.
Jay loved getting together with his geographically distant relatives, especially when they met in
Hawaii. He also enjoyed time with his Walhalla extended family for pool parties, birthday parties,
and football tailgates. His spare time was devoted to his Lego hobby.
The family wishes to thank his supervisors, friends and co-workers at Trader Joes in Greenville,
who contributed to him having his all-time favorite job.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your local animal shelter in honor of Jay and his
beloved dog, Millie. Live with Aloha!
