Bay City, MichiganOur beloved mother, sister and affectionately known as Grandma Jo by her grandchildren, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Colonnades Assisted Living, holding her son Tony's hand. She was 92 years old.
Joanna was born on March 22, 1933, in Cheboygan, MI, to the late Peter and Stella (Skiera) Antkoviak. Raised in the Catholic faith, she remained devoted to her beliefs throughout her life. On September 15, 1956, she married the love of her life, Virgil A. Biskupski, in Riggsville, MI. They shared many wonderful years together until his passing on April 23, 1995.
Joanna was an active member of the Tri-City Association for the Deaf. She was a passionate supporter of the Detroit Tigers, Great Lakes Loons, and Michigan State University. Joanna found joy in scratch-off lottery tickets and cherished the time spent with her beloved grandchildren.
Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering faith will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Left to cherish her memory is her son Anthony "Tony" (Kathleen) Biskupski and daughter Janet (Paul) Miller, grandchildren: Andy and Jake Miller, Mason, Easton, and Bryson Anderson and Winnie Dahl and her siblings: Charles (Jennifer) Antkoviak, Stanley (Maureen) Antkoviak, Peter (Nancy) Antkoviak Jr., Susan Cleary, Alice Mushlock, and Joseph Antkoviak. Joanna was predeceased by her parents Peter and Stella, infant brother Edward, brother Robert Antkoviak, two brothers-in-law Colin Cleary and William Mushlock and a sister-in-law Kathy Antkoviak.
The family would like to thank the wonderful nurses with McLaren Hospice who were with her to her final peace. Also, they would like to thank the staff of Colonnades Assisted Living who were a great comfort and support.
The Funeral Service for Joanna will be held Thursday, April 3, 2025, at 1:30 PM at Ambrose Funeral Home, 1200 Garfield Ave.,
Bay City, MI 48708. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Rev. Mike Wilke will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Gardens Cemetery.
