In Loving Memory
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jennis Alvin Clark, who departed this world peacefully in his sleep at his home on January 28, 2026, at the age of 88.
The funeral service will be held Friday, February 6, 2026 at 1:30 PM in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at Pinewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:15 to 1:15 PM at the funeral home.
Jennis was born on May 7, 1937, in Pitt County, North Carolina. He retired from Gleniot Mills after 20 years in
Tarboro, NC and retired as a rural mail carrier at the United States Postal Service. He was a devoted member of the Gum Swamp OFWB Church of
Greenville, NC. He was a true patriarch who had great joy in spending time with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and new great-great grand child. Jennis was a jokester always making those around him laugh. Jennis found purpose in a hard days work, working multiple jobs at time in his younger years including farming, taking care of his chicken houses and running a candy route. Jennis believed in the significance of family bonds, having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and being committed to his church. He lead his family through his steadfast example and dedication to them. He will forever leave a lasting legacy for his surviving loved ones.
Jennis was preceded in death by his loving wife Geraldine Clark of 68 years, his parents, Claude and Reba Clark. his sister Jane Anderson, his brother, Elmer Clark, and his twin brother, Dennis Clark; and son-in-law, Jimmy Waters.
We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. Jennis is survived by four children, Toby Clark of
Tarboro, NC; Brenda Waters of Rocky Mount, NC; Rita Barber of
Greenville, NC; and Darlene Bradley of
Kings Mills, OH. Grandchildren, Sherry Hodges (James); Stefanie Amick (Joseph); James Waters (Katarina); Sharon Schaaf (Brian); Stacey Waters Brown (Jason); Great grandchildren, Brandon (Kayla), Michael, and Emily House; Cameron and Logan Amick; Owen and Liam Waters; Austin Bradley, Hayden, Carter, and Gavin Schaaf; Step-Great grandchildren, Hunter and Brianna Hodges; Jackson Ellis; and Wyatt Amick. Great Great Grandson, Seth House. Several loving nieces and nephews.
