Jeffrey Daniel "Dan" Lamott, 66, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away on July 21, 2025. Dan was born on September 11, 1958, in Topeka. He was the son of Marshall and Cecilia Mulvihill Lamott. Dan grew up in North Topeka, graduating from Seaman High School in 1976. He earned a degree in Finance from Washburn University. Dan began his professional career in banking before transitioning to real estate in 1987. For the next 38 years, Dan built a highly successful career as a realtor. He worked with hundreds of clients – many of them returning again and again – not just because of his deep knowledge but because of the genuine care and trust he brought to each relationship. Dan had a way of listening and talking to people which put people at ease even in the most difficult of situations. He received multiple awards, recognizing his excellence and professionalism and was an active member of the Topeka Area Association of Realtors. In 1983, Dan married Julia Ann "Julie" Fleenor and together they built a life centered on love, laughter, family and friends. They were blessed with three children, Jarrod Taylor, Lauren Breanne and Mackenzie Paige. Dan was a devoted husband, father, brother and grandfather. He especially cherished attending his kids and grandkids events, always offering a warm smile, kind words and quiet encouragement. Dan was a lifelong baseball fan, and he followed the Kansas City Royals with enthusiasm and unwavering optimism. He loved watching old movies, collecting baseball cards, and was an excellent conversationalist. He also had a deep love for the North Shore of Lake Superior in northern Minnesota. What began as childhood trips to the North Shore with his family blossomed into treasured family traditions as he returned often with Julie and their children to relax, hike, shop and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Dan is survived by his wife of 42 years, Julie; his children, Jarrod Lamott, Lauren (Mitchell) Allington, and Mackenzie Lamott; his beloved grandchildren, Cash, Rhett, Weston and Jameson; and his brother, David (Shirley) Lamott. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Cecilia Lamott. All services will be Friday, August 1, 2025, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5973 SW 25th Street, Topeka KS 66614. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m., the rosary will be prayed at 10:30 a.m. and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Inurnment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jeffrey's Family for a bench on the North Shore of Lake Superior in Minnesota and sent in care of Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614. My sincere condolences at the passing of Dan. Whether my late husband (Manuel Vargas, Jr) and I were selling or buying a home, or just needed advice regarding resale value, Dan was the first person we thought of. He was a trusted professional who could make a stressful process almost effortless. We would sometimes run into Dan at church, and have the best conversations. Such a great guy!

With deepest sympathy,

Carol Powell (Vargas)
