Jeanette Marie Maples, 75 years old, peacefully passed away at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving siblings. Jeanette was born on August 30, 1949 in St. Joseph County to the late James Marl and Catherine Marie (Gensinger) Cisney. Along with her parents, Jeanette was preceded in death by her sister, Aretta Gushwa; and her two brothers, Stewart and Darell Monte Cisney.
Jeanette worked as a telephone operator for Indiana Bell and Illinois Bell. She also worked as a central office journal person for Illinois Bell. Jeanette retired in 2000. She was a 1967 graduate of North Liberty High School.
Jeanette is survived by her five siblings, Bunnie (the late James) Rimbaugh of LaPorte, IN, Diana (Cloid) Kime of North Liberty, Karen (the late Stephen) Quinlivan of Tavares, FL, James (Sondra) Cisney, Jr. of Walkerton, and Tim (Lori) Cisney of South Bend. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and their families.
A time of gathering will be held from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at the Palmer Funeral Home, within the Palmer Community Complex, 601 N. Michigan Street, Lakeville. Sharing of memories will begin at 2:00 p.m. A private inurnment ceremony will take place at a later date at Fair Cemetery, North Liberty.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Jeanette M. Maples may be donated to Elara Hospice, 2515 Bendix Drive, Ste. 100, South Bend, IN 46628. Online condolences may be offered to Jeanette's family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.
