James Ray Lindsay, Jr., 41, of Fort Branch, IN passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at Ascension St. Vincent in Evansville, IN. He was born on October 4, 1984 in Harrisburg, IL the son of James Ray Lindsay and Mary Ruth (Spear) Hawk. James married Elizabeth Jewell Feuquay on July 26, 2025. He was a lead supervisor at Interrail Transport. James loved fishing, cars and trucks, mudding, Denver Broncos, and watching movies with family.
James is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Lindsay of Fort Branch, IN; parents, Mary and Bob Hawk of Carmi, IL; daughter, Dixie Lindsay; stepson, Jeimy Santos; siblings, Sandy (Dennis Grant) Durham of Carmi, IL, Nancy (John) White of Virginia Beach, VA, April (John) Brown of Kansas, Madison Locklar of Grayville, IL, Donnie Paynter of Carmi, IL, Tony (Jamie) Cain of Carmi, IL, Geoff Miller of Grayville, IL, and Will Locklar of Carmi, IL; mother-in-law, Samantha Hilger of Grayville, IL; Rosemary Benjamin, who was like a second mom; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and dogs, Journey and Chloe. He was preceded in death by his father, James Lindsay; brother, Robert “Big Worm” Benjamin; and Ronnie Penrose, who helped raise him.
Visitation for James Ray Lindsay, Jr.,41, of Fort Branch, IN will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Private Burial will be in Melrose Cemetery in Carmi, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Campbell Funeral Home to assist the family with expenses. Envelopes will be available at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi or donations can be mailed to Campbell Funeral Home, 609 W. Main St, Carmi, IL 62821 or by Venmo @jordanfuneralgroup. Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is assisting the family with arrangements.
