James Hreha Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral and Cremation Center on Jan. 31, 2026.
James E. Hreha, 64, of Lorain, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home on January 29, 2026, following a lengthy illness. He was born on August 22, 1961, and was a lifelong resident of Lorain County. James was a 1979 graduate of Lorain High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army. Following his military service, he dedicated 33 years to the United States PostalService, retiring as a respected mail carrier. Prior to his retirement, he also served as a Union Representative and steward, advocating strongly for his fellow employees. A lifetime member of the Olde Towne Charleston Social Club, James was known as a highly skilled dart player and someone who never shied away from a little friendly gambling. He enjoyed the camaraderie of friends and a little competition.

He is survived by his loving children, Christina Hreha (Mark Quillen) and Kyle Hreha (Katrina); his cherished grandchildren, Marissa and Mason; and his siblings, Richard Hreha, Judith Williams, Ronald Hreha (Kim), and Gloria Hreha (Frank); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, James E. Hreha, Sr. and Gloria Byrd, and by his beloved wife, Diana Hreha.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Dovin & Reber Jones Funeral and Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, Ohio 44001. Services with military honors will begin at 6:30 PM
