James Colleran, age 89, passed away with his loving family by his side on Thursday, January 30, 2025. Jim was born, raised, and educated in Pittsburgh, PA where he graduated in 1956 from Duquesne University. He married his wife, Loretta, in 1959 and they started a family in Pittsburgh. Jim and Loretta moved to Hingham in 1971 where they cultivated countless fond memories raising their family. Most recently they lived in S. Weymouth since 2002. Jim and his family travelled to Stone Harbor, NJ annually over the last 60 years without ever missing a trip. Seeing his family together every year made Stone Harbor Jim's "Happy Place".
Jim is survived by his wife Loretta Colleran (Lenar) of S. Weymouth, his children Laura Sousa and her husband Ron of NY, Jim Colleran and his wife Linda of CA, Ellen Fonseca and her husband Butch of Marshfield, and Phil Colleran and his wife MJ of Somerville, his cherished grandchildren Michael, Matthew, Andrew, Melissa, Zachary, Sami, Jimmy, and Max, and his great-grandchildren Roy, Loralei, Cole, and Sophia.
Services for Jim will be private for his family.
