Geraldine Florence Ross, a beacon of love and compassion, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2025, at the age of 89 in Mishawaka, Indiana. Born on November 20, 1935, in Boston, Massachusetts, Geraldine was the cherished daughter of the late Frank and Rebecca (Mercer) Winsor. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter Ross, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories until his passing.
Geraldine was a devoted mother to her children: Doug Ross of Mishawaka, IN, Lori (Doug) Jaqua of
South Bend, IN, Lisa (David) Ellis of Niles, MI, and Kim (Michael) Dominello of
South Bend, IN. Her love and legacy continue to flourish through her grandchildren Julie Ross, Adam (Christine) Ross, and Randi (Nate) Perdue, as well as her six great-grandchildren and one eagerly anticipated arrival. She was a loving sister to Jill, Judy, and John, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Geraldine's life was marked by her dedication to caring for others, a calling she fulfilled through her esteemed career as a Registered Nurse. Her nurturing spirit and skilled hands brought comfort and healing to countless individuals over the years. Her commitment to her profession was paralleled only by her dedication to her family, whom she loved fiercely and without reservation.
Beyond her professional achievements, Geraldine was known for her vibrant spirit and zest for life. She was an avid reader, always with a book in hand, ready to explore new worlds and ideas. For over 25 years, she shared her passion for health and fitness by teaching aerobics at the local YMCA, inspiring others to embrace a life of activity and wellness. Geraldine's love for the outdoors was evident in her joy for walking and jogging, as well as in the beautiful flowers and meticulously cared-for yard that brought her so much pleasure.
Geraldine's heart was truly in her home, where she made every holiday an occasion to remember. Her ability to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere was unmatched, and her home was a haven for family and friends alike. She was the embodiment of care and compassion, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Her selfless nature was a gift to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
