Geraldine Gurley Obituary

Geraldine Parnell Gurley, 95, of Lincoln, AL passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026. A funeral ceremony will be held in her honor at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega with Stephen Collins officiating. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow directly after the ceremony at Stockdale Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Parnell was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega, and she attended Munford High School. She worked at Palm Beach Textiles and then in the fabric department at Wal-Mart for 18 years before retiring. She was a member of Ironaton Church of Christ and could figure out how to do absolutely anything. Mrs. Gurley enjoyed crocheting and was an excellent seamstress. She was a very Godly woman who truly loved everyone. Geraldine was a devoted and loving mother and "Grandmama" who will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her sons, David Gurley and Benny Gurley; grandsons, Kevin Green and Jessie Gurley; father, Wardy Parnell; mother, Novella Virginia Robinson, and stepfather, Andy Robinson.

Mrs. Gurley is survived by her children, James "Pee Wee" Gurley (Billie Ann), Judy Gurley Trammell (Johnny), Beckie Gurley, Billy Gurley (Terry), Lottie Gurley, and Tommy Gurley; 28 grandchildren; 73 great-grandchildren, and a host of great-great-grandchildren.

Lane Cleveland, Ethan Armstrong File, Derrick Gurley, Justin Herrington, Brian Alward-Cleveland, and Kevin Gurley will serve as pallbearers.

Pete Burroughs, Aidan Green, Joshua Quinn, Taylor Garrett, and Deshaund Garrett will serve as honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Gurley's family asks that donations be made in her memory to your own church or a charity of your choice.
