George Wolfe Obituary

In the modest town of Galien, Michigan, a life of humble generosity and spirited tenacity was born on the 8th of May, 1936. George Richard Wolfe, known affectionately as George, demonstrated an uncanny ability to touch the lives of those around him in the simplest yet most profound ways. As an outstanding athlete at Galien High School, he showcased his competitive nature, which was as fierce as it was invigorating. A celebrated millwright, George retired from Clark Equipment, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication to quality.
George was a proud member of the Galien American Legion, his generosity and spirit extending well beyond his immediate circle. His contributions were always bestowed with a humble heart, never seeking recognition, but instead finding joy in the act of giving itself. George proudly served in the United State Army where he competitively boxed and acquired a life long love for parachuting.
George is survived by his daughters Sharon (Maurice) Bokhart, Serena Wolfe, and Chantel (Dale) Luther; his grandchildren Amanda Luther, Alexandria Bokhart, Christian Bokhart, Ashley Bybee, Matthew (Meagan) Bybee, and Celeste Marsh; and his great-grandchildren Malcolm Bybee and Maevery Bybee. He is also survived by his first wife Joyce and his brothers Don and Richard Wolfe. Preceding him in death were his parents, George Wolfe Sr. and Marguerite Wolfe; and his siblings, Ronald and Barbara Wolfe.
A graveside service will be held in George's honor on Saturday, 22nd of February, 2025, at 1:00pm EST at the Galien Township Cemetery.
