Gary Knutson, 64 of Ottawa, died Saturday January 18, 2025 in Ottawa, IL.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 25 at St Patrick's Catholic Church located at 726 West Jefferson Street Ottawa IL with Monsignor Merdian officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park.
Gary Knutson was born May 6, 1960 in Ottawa to Russell and Christine Knutson. He graduated from Ottawa Township High School.
He was employed and retired from IDOT, Illinois Department of Transportation. Gary was a member of St Patrick's Catholic Church. And a member of Boy Scouts of America.
Gary loved fishing, gardening, listening to music, and playing card games with friends.
He was proceeded in death by his Parents and Stepfather Manley Knutson and a Stepsister Bonnie Knutson.
He is survived by his sisters Karen (Eric) Ladenheim of Fresno, CA., Monica (David) Pershick of Normal, IL. Carol Knutson (Peter) Stuck of Hudson, IL. and Gail Knutson of Ottawa, IL.
He is also survived by two Stepsisters Beverly (Bruce) Hucker of Ames, Iowa, Merle (Mike) Clark of Darien, IL. and a stepbrother David Knutson of San Jose, California.
Nephews Alexander (Kerry) Ladenheim, Andrew Ladenheim and Colin Pershick. Nieces Victoria Pershick and Evelyn Ladenheim. Step-nephew Ben Hucker, and Step-nieces Molly and Mallory Clark.
Family was an important part of Gary's life. He loved spending time with his family, relatives and friends. His memory will remain with us and he will always be remembered in our hearts.
Memorials can be directed to St. Patrick's Catholic Church 726 West Jefferson St. Ottawa, Illinois 61350.
