Flora Bell was born February 24, 1942, to the late Sidney and Veola Darby in Abbeville, LA. She passed away peacefully on February 12, 2025, surrounded by loved ones at Maison Du Monde Nursing Home. She was a devoted friend and a source of unwavering support to those she held dear, including the many nieces and nephews she spiritually adopted over the years.
Flora found joy in spending time with friends, engaging in political discussions, reading, and keeping up with the latest news. She also was devoted to supporting many charities worldwide. Flora's kindness, wisdom, and friendship will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She leaves behind her beloved brother, Robert P. Darby; two sisters-in-law: Annie P. Darby of Hollis, New York and Evelyn Darby of Kenner, LA. and a host of nephews, nieces, one godchild, cherished friends and extended family members who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
She joins in Glory with her parents: Sidney and Veola Darby; her brothers: Haywood Darby, Nolan Darby Sr., Fredrick Darby and Alvin Darby, Sr. and her sister Carolyn D. Moss. May they Rest in Peace.

Flora was such a swee gentle spirit. I enjoyed meeting her at Dillard and again after Hurricane Katrina when she came to Shreveport. May she rest in peace. Praying for comfort for her family and all those who loved her.
