Ethel Mae "Ginger" Newton, age 84 of Vernon, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 15th, 2025, at the Newton Medical Center.
Born in Wood-Ridge, NJ to the late John and Martha (McHugh) Rogers, Ginger lived there most of her life, settling in Vernon eight years ago. Prior to her retirement, Ginger worked as a consumer relations specialist for Reckitt-Benckiser in Parsippany.
Predeceased by her parents; her infant daughter, Donna Lee Newton; grandchildren Edward Michael Castellano and Travis Anthony Hover; and sisters Joan Kubik, Martha Cordasco, and Patricia Edmondson, Ginger is survived by her daughters Erin DeLuca-Knighton (Dane), Beth Ann Kurzum (Michael), Jodi Allyn Newton-Hahn (Mark), Kirsten Alain O'Brien (James), and Audra Rose Hover (Walter); loving grandchildren Amy Lee, Jonathan, Zachary, Emma Jean, Chloe Jane, Nicholas John, Samantha Rae, Desiree, Kelli-Lee, Patrick James, Evan Daniel, Ashlei Rose, Cody James, and Ian Michael; as well as her great-grandchildren Olive Ginger, George Worth, Waylon Rush, Leo Blaise, Caleb Daniel, Charlotte Rose, Mercedez Rain, Lincoln Lee, Marianna, Lucas Gabriel, Noah James, Aliyah Rae, Winter Rose, and Leonardo Michael.
A visitation for Ginger will be held on Wednesday, March 19th, 2025, 4-8PM at the Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, (One Vanderhoof Court for GPS), 241 Route 94, Vernon, NJ 07462. A funeral service will take place at 7:30PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Joyce Meyer Ministries (joycemeyer.org/donate) and the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (ifcj.org).
