Elaine Margret Salmon-Hyman passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Wexner Heritage Village in Columbus, Ohio. She leaves behind her husband Eukel Hyman, four children—Teloi, Alron, Telecia, and Rayon Gordon—along with her beloved grand/great children, daughters-in-laws, sisters, brother, nieces, nephews, dear relatives, and cherished friends.

Born on September 5, 1960, at the Victoria Jubilee Hospital in Kingston, Jamaica. She spent her formative years in Black River, St. Elizabeth, and St. Catherine, before later moving to Montego Bay. In the 1990s, she migrated to the United States, where she spent the remainder of her life working in the restaurant industry and as a devoted health aide then advanced to admin assistant.

Elaine was known for her kind, loving, compassionate, and generous spirit. Her warm smile, natural charm, and gentle presence left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. The sound of her cooking in the kitchen, the unforgettable taste of her meals, her comforting hugs, her attentive listening ear, and the echo of her voice will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

If Elaine had been named Charity, it would not have been in vain. The countless lives touched by her kindness stand as living proof of her selflessness and the depth of her compassion. From the shores of her homeland in Jamaica to her life in the United States, Elaine embodied the true meaning of charity. She lived a life of giving—always helping others, right up to her final days.

Mommy, you had an extraordinary way of recognizing the needs of others and stepping in without hesitation. You saw the good in everyone, regardless of circumstance, and loved with the biggest, most understanding, and forgiving heart. You moved with a quiet strength that is recognized even more now, thank you for being so strong, and thank you for holding on to your steady faith in our Heavenly Father. Our lives—and this world—will never be the same without you.

A wake will be held on February 14, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., at Families First Cremation and Funeral at Edwards. She will return to her homeland, where she will be laid to rest- (date to be announced at a later time) The family of Elaine would like to express our deepest gratitude to all who took the time to visit, offer support, and bless us through acts of kindness and prayer during this challenging season.

Let us pray

It is written There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:

A time to be born and a time to die, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to be silent and a time to speak, Heavenly father we thank you for these seasons, the ones Elaine had lived through and the ones we will continue to live through. We thank you for your promise to be there though the seasons even when we can' t see you In

Yeshua' s mighty name we pray amen!
