Dorothy McConaughy Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wolfe Memorial, LLC on Jan. 27, 2026.
On Saturday, January 24, 2026, Dorothy Krause Kehlenbeck McConaughy, age 96, peacefully went home to be with her LORD and Savior Jesus Christ. Dorothy was a loyal and devoted mother, wife, and friend. She was committed to Hebron Church, countless volunteer projects, Churchill Garden Club, and several social bridge clubs, but most importantly, to her family. She spoke often and fondly of her two wonderful husbands, "Johnny" and "Eck." She attributed her commitment to hard work to her German heritage and beloved mother Emma Krause. "If a job is worth doing, it's worth doing well."

She is survived by her children Mark (Jane) Kehlenbeck and Janis Hoch; stepsons Mark and Kim McConaughy; four grandchildren Amy (Justin) Bell, Sarah (William) Johnson, John Mark (Holly) Kehlenbeck, and Pam (Jason) Getz; and nine great-grandchildren, Wesley, Isaac, Hudson, Payton, Avery, Addison, Lily, Braydon, and Rowan. Dorothy was pre-deceased by her mother and father Emma and Carl Krause; her two sisters Lillian Thomas and Lois Wolfe Ferber; and son-in-law William Hoch.

Friends received at Wolfe Memorial, LLC, Forest Hills Chapel, 3600 Greensburg Pike, Pittsburgh PA 15221, on Thursday, January 29, from 10:00am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00am. Private burial in William Penn Cemetery, Churchill. In lieu of flowers, please consider supporting Bridges Hospice, 4130 Monroeville Blvd., Monroeville PA 15146, www.bridgeshospice.org/donate, who provided outstanding, compassionate care to both Dorothy and the family.
