Doris Lewin Obituary
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 7231 Main Street, Ovid by Fr. Bernard Maloney OFMCap. Prayers of committal will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.
Doris was born in Elmira on January 16, 1924, a daughter of the late George and Margaret (nee Fitzgerald) Lewin. Blind from birth, Doris lived a simple life with her parents until their deaths, from that point she had various homes with assistance from neighbors and friends.
She is survived by friend Jackie Doran, and faithful parishioners of Holy Cross. Doris was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Lewin and by her friends, Lynn Vincent and Charlotte Huyler.
