Domingo B. Cano, 80, passed away with his family by his side, Sunday, January 5, 2025. Honoring Domingo as pallbearers will be his grandsons Matthew R. Hill, Dennis Cano Jr., Devin Cano, Joshua Mireles, Noah Mireles, and Brody Zarate. Honorary pallbearer will be his grandson Gary D. Chapa.
Domingo was born November 12, 1944 in Wharton, Texas to the late Raul and Angelita Cano. He married the love of his life, Josephine Mireles June 16, 1993. He loved being with his family. Known as Mingo by his loved ones, he enjoyed Tejano music, dancing, and spending time with his service dog, Chewy. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.
Domingo was preceded by his parents, and his brothers and sisters Hito Cano, Daniel Cano, Joseph Cano, Sally B. Cano, Anita Ortiz, Juanita Torres and Betty Alonzo.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Josephine M. Cano, daughters Veronica Chapa (Robert), Vivian Hill, and his sons Dennis Cano Sr. (Diana), AJ Mireles (Guadalupe) and Daniel Mireles (Isabel), 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, siblings Mickey Mijia and Ramona Tames (Israel); his beloved dog, Chewy, along with other loving family members and friends.
Visitation will begin on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Angel Lucy's Funeral Home in Victoria, Texas, with a Holy Rosary to begin at 6 pm. Visitation will resume on Friday, January 17, 2025 at Our Lady of Victory at 10 am, with a Funeral Mass to begin at 11 am. Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
