Deborah MaryAnn Scott, 81, passed away on March 8, 2025. She was a member of Greater Friendship Baptist Church. Services will be Saturday, March 22, 2025 beginning with visitation at 11 am and funeral service to follow at 1 pm at Greater Friendship Baptist Church, 2325 Osage Avenue.
Born April 21, 1943 to Bernice and Raymond Ivory Belt, Sr., she is the youngest of five children. She was known to everyone as "MaryAnn", who lived a life overflowing with love, faith, and unwavering devotion to Christ and her family.
MaryAnn married Robert Scott, Sr., and in their union they raised nine children together. MaryAnn a loving adored mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and a bonus mother. She enjoyed playing spades, 10,000, laughter, traveling, and was a true Louisville Cardinal fan. She confessed hope in Christ at an early age at the West Chestnut Street Baptist Church, later in years she joined by Christian experience Union Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. O.W. Bush, where she served in the choir and kitchen ministry. After the passing of Rev. Otis Bush, she then joined Zion Hope under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Kennard Bush serving over the kitchen ministry. Years later she joined Greater Friendship under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Derrick Miles where she faithfully worshipped.
MaryAnn was preceded in death by her parents Bernice and Raymond Belt Sr.; her siblings, Wilma Fergurson, Raymond Belt and Rosetta Winston; and four of her children, Devana Johnson, David, Deborah, and Kennith Belt.
Leaving to cherish her memories her daughters; Marketta English and Tanglia Buntin (Ramon); her sons, Ricky Belt (Christal), Dewain Belt, and Darryel Belt (Ashley); sister, Georgia Mae Mcphaul, five bonus sons, Robert Scott (Rebecca), Arthur Scott, Michael Scott, Gregory Graves (Sharon), and Benjamin Wilson; son in law, James Johnson, 43 grandchildren; 108 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins, and bonus children.
