Deborah Hennessey Obituary
Deborah Sue Hennessey, 73, of Zanesville, died at 4:08 A.M. on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at her residence. She was born January 10, 1951, in Zanesville. She was the daughter of William Herman Todd and Betty Jane Todd. Debbie enjoyed golfing, bowling, working in her yard, taking her grandchildren to Joe's Run, riding her bicycle, walking her golden retriever Bailey, listening to Jimmy Buffet spending time at Buckeye Lake and going to Florida. She was a fan of the Zanesville Blue Devils and watching her grandchildren play football amongst other sports and activities. As a graduate of The Ohio State University, she loved tailgating and going to her beloved Buckeye games.
Debbie belonged to multiple organizations including the Zanesville Country Club, the All-Around Club, Ohio State Alumni, the Women's 100 Club, the Assembly Club, and numerous School organizations. She was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. Debbie was employed as a teacher with West Muskingum Schools for 30 years. She was also the proud owner and founder of Backroad Wellness a medical marijuana dispensary for locations including Cambridge, Lima, and New Boston.
She is survived by her loving husband, Patrick Hennessey, whom she married on August 24, 1974; for a loving union that lasted almost 50 years. Debbie's memory will be forever cherished by her two children, Kristen (Jason) Hardcastle and Brian Hennessey (fiancé, Mandi Robb). She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren Maximus and Dane Hardcastle and Carter and Camden Hennessey. She also leaves behind her sister, Carolyn Gardner, her sister-in-law Vicki Todd, and her sister-in-law Linda Hennessey, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Also, survived by her pets Bailey, Harley and Gracie.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Father-in-law Ralph E. Hennessey, Mother-in-law Violet M. George Hennessey, as well as her brother Ronald G. Todd, brother-in-law Daniel Hennessey and brother-in-law Terry Gardner.
Graveside Services for Debbie will be held Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 12 PM Noon at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, 1475 Military Rd., Zanesville, Oh 43701, with Pastor Andrew Wilson officiating.
A Celebration of life will be held at the Zanesville Country Club, Saturday February 3, 2024, from 4-7 p.m. Come celebrate Deb in your OSU or Jimmy Buffet attire.
All arrangements have been entrusted to BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE.
In Lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Animal Shelter Society located at 1430 Newark Road, Zanesville, Ohio and The OSU Alumni Club of Muskingum County (OSUACMC).
