David R. Green, 73, of East Greenwich, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, February 4, 2025.
He was the beloved husband of Kathleen A. (Banco) Green.
Born in Salt Lake City, UT, he was the son of the late Robert E. and Betty (Cox) Green.
David received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Chemistry from the University of California, Davis. He began his career at Cordova Chemical Company of California as a Quality Engineer and Analytical Chemist and then retired from Textron after 21 years as Director of Human Resources Operations and Compliance Center of Excellence where he developed and implemented the first Textron global Enterprise Human Resources shared services platform.
David was a member of the American Chemical Society and was an elected member of the East Greenwich School Committee from 2010 to 2014 where he was elected chair of that committee from 2012-2014.
In his free time, David's hobbies included woodworking, riding his Harley, cooking, and baking.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two children, Jonathan Green of Lake Orion, MI, and Christine Green and her husband Paul Jarrett of Brooklyn, NY and four grandchildren.
At David's request, his funeral services and burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to Teach For America in his honor.
