Mr. Blount, was born in Sandersville, the son of the late Cecil O. Blount, Jr. and Faye Smith Blount. He was a 1978 graduate of Washington County High School. He was known for his ability to work on and fix just about any type of appliance, electrical equipment or motor. Joby also loved to eat, especially banana pudding and peach cobbler from Chester Deans. He was a member of Sandersville First Church of the Nazarene. In addition to his father, Joby is preceded in death by his son, Danny Joe Blount, Jr.
Mr. Blount is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Jan Woodard Blount; son, Chris Blount and his fiancé, Amber McCoy; mother, Faye Smith Blount of Harrison; sisters, Sondra Cauble of Kennesaw and Dana Blount of Harrison; brother, Keith Blount and his wife Teena of Harrison; and his four-legged buddy, Roscoe.
