James "Dale" Everette, 88, beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and long-time resident of Granbury, passed away early on Saturday morning, March 1st, 2025, in Granbury.
Visitation for Dale will begin at 10 A.M., on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at the Wiley Funeral Home Chapel, 400 Highway 377 East, in Granbury. Funeral services celebrating Dale's life will be held at 11 A.M., Thursday, March 6, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Rough Creek Cemetery.
Dale was born on November 7, 1936, in Brushy, Texas. He was the oldest of 4 sons born to the late "Doc" and Lucy Everette. He married the love of his life, Betty Jean Threadgill on June 8, 1957, and together had 3 children, Vickie, Tracie, and Creg. Dale will be remembered as a hard worker who could fix anything. He enjoyed outdoor activities including gardening, hunting and fishing. Dale also loved all animals and tending to his cattle. He worked for over 25 years at Lockheed Martin. He was a person of deep Christian faith. Most of all, Dale cherished time spent with his beloved family.
Dale is survived by his wife of nearly 67 years, Betty Jean; his children, Vickie Lynn McSpadden, Tracie Jean and husband Dave Younger, and James Creg and wife Sharla Everette; grandchildren, Timothy McSpadden, Haley, Taylor, and Austin Younger, and Colt and Wyatt Everette; his great-grandchildren, B.J., Abigail, Chase, Ryder, Ava, Sawyer, Cannon, Grayson, and Barron; and by his brother, Tony and wife Marcy Everette.
In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his brothers, Nickey & Rudy Everette.
